Recover abandoned checkout — Shopify Flow template

What it does

10 hours after a customer abandons checkout — and only if they haven't ordered or restarted checkout in the meantime, and the items are still in stock — they get an email with a Checkout Link that drops them back into the same cart in one click.

Why this play works

Most abandoned-cart tools send a generic link to a generic checkout. A Checkout Link lets you decide per send: drop the customer straight back into checkout to convert before they cool off, or send them to a pre-checkout page with recommended upsells to recover more revenue per recovery. Optionally attach a discount, free gift, or tiered promotion to the link — it applies automatically on either destination, no codes to share or leak.

What you'll need

  • A Checkout Link set as Dynamic (so the abandoned cart items pre-fill from the trigger)

  • Klaviyo connected in Checkout Links so the email send action can fire

How it works

  1. Trigger: Abandoned checkout

  2. Condition: Customer abandoned checkout on online store

  3. Condition: Total price more than $0.00

  4. Wait: 10 hours

  5. Condition: Customer hasn't placed an order or abandoned another checkout since

  6. Condition: 1 or more products in checkout are available and in stock

  7. Action: Use dynamic link (Checkout Links)

  8. Action: Send Checkout Link

Tips

If your store has high abandonment volume, consider routing the link to a pre-checkout page with social proof and an upsell — recovery + AOV in one move. Tiered promotions (spend $50 get 10% off) apply automatically on either destination.
