Shopify POS is Shopify's point-of-sale app for selling in person — at retail counters, pop-ups, markets, and events. With Checkout Links connected, your staff can scan any checkout link's QR code at the register to load its products, discounts, and promotions straight into the POS cart.
It's the same QR code you already share online, working at the counter.
What you can do
Reorder at the counter — Scan a customer's reorder link from their packaging or an email
Run a printed promotion in-store — Put a QR code on shelf-talkers, flyers, or receipts and let staff scan it to apply the bundle, discount, or free gift
Honour an online offer in person — A customer brings in a checkout link from email or social — staff scan it and the discount goes straight on the POS sale
Pop-ups and events — Hand out QR cards and let staff redeem them at the register
Before you start
You will need:
An active Checkout Links subscription
The Shopify POS app on iPhone, iPad, or Android
A staff role with access to the POS cart
At least one checkout link created in Checkout Links
What carries over to POS
When a link is scanned at POS, everything you set up on the link comes along:
Products and quantities
Per-line discounts — Percentage or fixed-amount discounts on specific items
Order discounts and free shipping
Free gifts from promotion tiers — added as line items, marked with a 🎁
Line item properties — Custom properties attached to items on the link
Attribution — POS orders are tracked under the same link stats as online orders, so your reporting stays accurate
Set it up
There's nothing to install separately — the POS extension ships with Checkout Links. To enable it, add the Scan Link tile to a POS device:
Open the Shopify POS app and sign in
On the home grid, tap Add tile (or the edit icon, then Add tile)
Choose App and pick Checkout Links > Scan Link
Save the layout
Repeat on each device that should be able to scan links.
Using it
Tap the Scan Link tile, point the camera at a Checkout Links QR code, and the link's items go into the POS cart. If the cart already has items, you'll be asked whether to Replace cart or Add to cart. From there, finish the sale in POS as usual — discounts and promotions from the link apply automatically at checkout.
