The Listicle template builds a content-rich pre-checkout page with repeating sections — each one has a headline, image, paragraph, and product block. It's great for "Top 5 picks" style pages, gift guides, or editorialised product rundowns, and AI can write the copy for you.
When to use it
Use the Listicle template when you want the pre-checkout page to read more like an article than a cart page. It works for featuring a single hero product across multiple angles, or for walking through several different products one at a time.
How to apply the template
Open a checkout link and toggle Pre-checkout page on
Click Edit page to open the block editor
Click the templates icon in the editor header and pick Listicle
Walk through the steps below
Review the summary and click Apply
The setup steps
1. Product mode
Choose how products map to sections:
1 product — the same product is shown after each section. Good for deep-diving one hero item.
Multiple products — each section features a different product. Good for a "Top picks" rundown.
2. How many sections? (1 product mode only)
Pick how many sections the page should have. The default is 3, and you can go from 1 up to 10. In multiple-product mode, the section count matches the number of products you select, so this step is skipped.
3. Select products
Pick the product (for single mode) or products (for multiple mode) to feature. Each product's first image is used to prefill the image in its section.
4. AI-generated text
Decide whether AI should write the headlines and paragraphs for you:
Yes, generate with AI — AI writes catchy headlines and descriptions based on your products
No, I'll write my own — placeholder text is added that you can edit yourself
5. AI settings (only if AI is on)
Tell the AI what to write about and pick a tone of voice. The more specific your topic, the better the output — a blank topic gives generic copy.
What the template builds
Applying the template replaces the current blocks with:
Header — your store branding
Intro text — a "Top N picks" heading and opening paragraph
A section for each pick, each containing:
An H3 headline
An image prefilled from the product
A paragraph
A product block that stays visible after the item is added to cart
Cart items
Cart summary
Checkout button
Skip button
How the AI fills in copy
If AI is on, the template sends your product list, section count, topic, and tone off and comes back with a full set of headlines and paragraphs. They replace the placeholder text automatically. If generation fails for any reason, the placeholder copy stays in place so you can edit it by hand.
Editing after applying
Everything the template builds is editable:
Swap or reword headlines and paragraphs from the Text blocks
Replace section images from the Media blocks
Add or remove sections by duplicating or deleting blocks
Change or add products in each Products block
Tips
Give the AI a specific topic — "Holiday gifts for coffee lovers" beats "gifts"
Keep product images high-quality — the template reuses them as the section images
Test on mobile — listicle pages get long, so check the reading flow on a phone
